Use Dedicated / Residential Proxies Print

ExpressNodes proxies work seamlessly with HTTP and SOCKS5 protocols. Below are tools and steps to configure proxies across browsers, desktop software, and mobile apps.

1. Browser Extensions

a. Proxy SwitchyOmega (Free)

• Supported Browsers: Chrome, Firefox

• Steps:

  1. Install Proxy SwitchyOmega.

  2. Open extension settings → Create a new profile (e.g., "ExpressNodes").

  3. Under Proxy Protocol, select HTTP or SOCKS5.

  4. Enter your proxy IP, port, username, and password:

     HTTP: http://username:password@ip:port  
     SOCKS5: socks5://username:password@ip:port  

      

  5. Save and activate the profile.

b. FoxyProxy (Free/Paid)

• Supported Browsers: Chrome, Firefox

• Steps:

  1. Install FoxyProxy.

  2. Click the extension icon → Add Proxy.

  3. Choose Manual Proxy Configuration.

  4. Enter IP, port, username, password, and select HTTP/SOCKS5.

  5. Assign patterns (e.g., URLs) to route traffic through the proxy.

2. Desktop Software

a. Proxifier (Free Trial / Paid)

• Platforms: Windows, macOS

• Steps:

  1. Download Proxifier.

  2. Go to Profile → Proxy Servers → Add.

  3. Enter proxy IP, port, username, password.

  4. Select HTTP or SOCKS5 under Protocol.

  5. Set rules in Profile → Proxification Rules to route traffic.

b. Postman (Free/Paid for Teams)

• Use Case: API Testing

• Steps:

  1. Download Postman.

  2. Open Postman → Settings (⚙️) → Proxy.

  3. Under Global Proxy Configuration, enable proxy.

  4. Enter proxy IP, port, username, and password.

  5. Select HTTP or SOCKS5.

  6. Send API requests through the proxy.

3. Mobile Apps

a. Orbot (Free)

• Platform: Android/iOS (SOCKS5 Only)

• Steps:

  1. Install Orbot.

  2. Go to Settings → Configure Bridges → Add Custom Bridge.

  3. Enter SOCKS5 proxy: socks5://username:password@ip:port 

  4. Start VPN to route all traffic through the proxy.

b. Shadowrocket (Paid)

• Platform: iOS

• Steps:

  1. Install Shadowrocket.

  2. Tap + → Manual.

  3. Enter proxy IP, port, username, password.

  4. Select HTTP or SOCKS5.

  5. Toggle the proxy to activate.

Tips

• Always replace username:password@ip:port with your actual proxy credentials.

• Use the ExpressNodes Dashboard to change IPs when needed.
